Located halfway between Recife and Maceió, about 125 km from both state capitals, Maragogi is idyllically set on the Coral Coast in the north of Alagoas State. The small city with a little over 25.000 inhabitants is bathed by an emerald green ocean with sugar white sandy beaches and lush coconut plantations. It is the state most visited beach town. About 6 km offshore lies the Galés Marine Reserve, a group of sandbars, reefs and stunning natural pools with crystalline waters, formed at low tide and excellent for snorkeling and scuba diving.
