Engelse beschrijving Amazone cruise expeditie met M/S La Jangada

Commencing its maiden voyage in May 2019, La Jangada is a twenty-nine meter long catamaran, fully set to offer a range of unforgettable cruises in great comfort on the Amazon, Solimões and Rio Negro river systems.

The vessel, boasts 12 spacious, light-filled cabins decorated with indigenous artworks and fitted with large panoramic windows that offer spectacular views of the Amazonian landscapes. The contemporary interior style, choice of fabrics and rich local flavour give the 16 to 25m² suites a boutique vibe. Six suites are located on the main deck, and the other six on the upper deck, that overlook and open onto a private terrace. Each suite is fully equipped with double or twin beds, an optional extra bed, air-conditioning, private toilets, and ablution facilities with warm water showers.

The panoramic restaurant on the upper deck serves different dishes every day. The Brazilian chef strongly defends local products, ensuring a rich Amazonian menu of local specialities. The bar lounge and sun bridge are the perfect venue to enjoy local beverages, admire the views and share experiences with new friends as the M/S navigates its way into the heart of the Amazon.

The highly trained expedition crew consists of an expedition leader, naturalist guides, captain, second captain and a highly trained team of bridge sailors, cooks, as well as a butler and barman.

The company operates "short" 5-day cruises to extensive 12 and 13-day expeditions that operate between Manaus, Tefé and Tabatinga, a remote town on the border point between Brazil, Colombia and Peru. What sets these longer expeditions apart from many others is that these are one-way cruises, venturing much deeper into the heart of the Amazon. These packages include the return flight back to Manaus from the end-point of the expedition. Highlights include the Mamirauá and Xixuau Reserves on the Amazon and Juaperi river systems, and visits to indigenous communities.
